Kultiveret is proud to collaborate with architect, writer, design specialist and photographer Marie-Louise Høstbo on this immersive walkshop through Copenhagen’s layered architectural landscape.
With nearly three decades of experience at the intersection of architecture and design, Marie-Louise brings a distinctive perspective shaped by a deep respect for history, materials, and craftsmanship - combined with an eye toward contemporary relevance and sustainability.
Formerly Creative Design Director at Fritz Hansen, she now works independently as a strategic design consultant, partnering with leading design brands and professionals. Her acclaimed book, Secret Places – The Architect’s Guide to Distinctive Buildings in and around Copenhagen, serves as a point of inspiration for this experience. You will also have the option to acquire a signed copy at a special guest rate, either before or after the experience.
"The Secret Places" Walkshop invites participants to engage more deeply with the city’s built environment, moving between historic landmarks and modernist icons from pre-1900 treasures to Brutalist and Functionalist architecture. Throughout the walk, Marie-Louise offers thoughtful commentary, personal reflections, and informal guidance on observing and photographing architecture. Participants are encouraged to slow down, engage their senses, and reflect whether through photography, journaling, or quiet observation.
Places you'll explore: Christianshavn, Knippelsbro (harbour architecture), Slotsholmen, Nytorv, Gammeltorv and the City Hall Square.
