In this experience, you’re invited to see the city differently, not through its landmarks, but its quiet details.
A guided walk invites you to notice subtle traces: light, texture, and moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. These impressions become the foundation for a hands-on Polaroid emulsion lift workshop with conservator and artist Sille Juline Høgly Petersen. You’ll leave with a handmade artwork and a refreshed eye for quiet details.
What you’ll experience
Fragment walk with Kultiveret (approximately 45 mins)
The experience begins with an observational walk led by Alexandra from Kultiveret. Over 45 minutes, you’ll be guided to notice the city’s quieter language. Surfaces shaped by time, the play of light and shadow, overlooked corners, and subtle textures.
This walk invites you to observe with care and begin seeing the city as a layered image. It offers a quiet foundation for the creative process ahead.
Workshop introduction (15 mins)
You’ll meet Sille Juline Høgly Petersen in her welcoming home studio. She will introduce the Polaroid emulsion lift technique and demonstrate how a photographic image can be separated from its original surface and gently transferred onto fine paper.
After the demonstration, you’ll either use a Polaroid camera or choose a photo from your phone to turn into a Polaroid (or both) and then begin creating.
Photo walk (approx. 15 mins)
Take a quiet walk, follow your instincts and allow time to observe, reflect, and respond to what you see. The impressions you gather will become the foundation for your work.
Polaroid lift workshop (2 hrs)
In the workshop you’ll begin the delicate process of the Polaroid emulsion lift using your photographs. With the help of Sille, you’ll gently lift the image from its surface and transfer it onto fine paper, transforming it into something altered, intimate, and tactile. The result is a unique piece – something to frame, keep, or gift as a postcard-size work.
